Make Life Magical with tidylodge: Bridging the Gap Between Therapy, Coaching & Magic

One evening before Christmas, on my husband’s birthday and the anniversary of my Father’s diagnosis, we all sat down to have dinner before my mother went to see my brother in Perth, Australia. We had all spent the past five months grieving the death of my Father and my Grandfather, who died within days of each other. My Mum had found this book that looked so old the pages were turning a yellowy brown hue, it had a letter with it, it was a letter my mother had written my father stating that if she had An hour to live, An hour to love, this is what she would say. We all sat around the table and took turns reading the book whilst sobbing, then we read the letter, feeling a little moment of relief that Mum had taken the time to tell Dad what she would say to him if she knew she only had one hour left with him.

I learnt a lot that evening from that exercise which was melancholically cathartic and almost magical in the shared love and emotions. I learnt the importance of giving and showing love in everything we do, in every moment we can, with every fibre of our being. I am an avid believer in the law of attraction and if you asked me my way of life I would say to be love in every essence of the word. With everything we encounter in life it is not always easy to have our love hats on, that is why heightened awareness is ever so crucial. Like a marriage and a relationship, to hone the skill is to nurture it daily, water it like our beautiful Christmas Poinsettia in the living room.

This reading and this display of love and affection between my mother and father was the catalyst for my continued quest to be love, to show more love and to truly understand the meaning of love. Often my husband has spoken of how he does not believe in anger in a relationship, and as much as I would love to believe this too, I had doubts at the time that how can two people be under one roof and not get angry at each other at some point. His love alone has shown me the importance of acceptance, forgiveness and the significance of the relationships we have with the people we love. I believe that with a lot of effort in communication and the law of attraction, love can actually envelop us in every area of our lives until its presence feels like a magical force. After all, that is what love is, energy, a magical, mystical, scientific force of nature that we can all harness. I don’t mean it in some wishy-washy sense, I just mean that love really is the secret of life, and with a little practice, it can follow us even in the darkest of times.

What losing my Father, this letter and this book taught me, is that our live’s are so precious, that in the blink of an eye, everything can change and that we are not immune to hardship. You talk of these things happening to others, they never happen to my family, but that is just not true, we are not immune. When my father passed away, I grieved hard; I felt every feeling there was to feel. I thought my heart would explode and my lungs would give way from the pain and grief of losing the only man who had ever stuck by me my whole life from start to finish, the one man who stuck up for me at every chance, who made me feel I could conquer the world. The one man, who, despite all my efforts to rebel against life, was there around every corner to pick up all the broken pieces. The sacrifices that man made for me are just insurmountable. I literally owe him my life. If only he had one more hour to live and I had one more hour to love!

8 Magical Manifesting Techniques: A Beginners Guide

It’s taken me some five plus years for the penny to finally drop on the whole Secret, manifesting game and I don’t want it to take that long for you. So, I have created a list of the eight most crucial manifesting techniques and the secret to each one, this is the first step in creating more magic in your life. As you may already know, 8 = wealth, fortune and prosperity in Chinese culture as the word Fa means to make fortune, so let’s make some magic and create fortune for ourselves. The list is designed in such a way that you can do one and see results or you can try multiple variations, or all of them if you’re feeling super adventurous and keen to feel that instantaneous magic.

One of my favourite authors, Paulo Coelho has sold over 65 million books in over 80 languages, making it into the Guinness World Record for the most translated book ever written. He was captured and tortured, went through unimaginable trauma and yet he pursued his destiny. Despite all of the hurdles, no matter who wouldn’t publish his first book, The Alchemist, he did not give up, he pursued his dreams and his literary novels oose manifestation techniques and have created one of the worlds best authors of our time. There are many examples of how manifesting works if we truly search for them and often they find us.

Now, let me tell you a little secret about my manifesting journey and how I became not only a believer, but had a total realisation that it is totally science, there is absolute proof in the art and that it is a combination of physics and psychology. As Einstein once said, “everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way.” It is in our thoughts and our feelings that we create the world around us. Think about it, everything you do has come from a thought before it turned into a behaviour, even before it transmuted into the creation of an action, an event or a thing.

Thought = An Action = A Feeling = Changed Behaviour or Repeat Behavioural Pattern = Creation of an event, a thing, a relationship, an opportunity or circumstance

Thought = Non action (Dismissal of thought) = Nothing created

The evidence for me started in 2010 when I received a first class honours degree and an award in the media for a documentary I had created. I’ve always been a bit of a clown and because of that people tend to look at you like you’re a bit of court jester or an idiot, which secretly gave me the upper hand, because more fool them, it gave me the freedom to back away from the competitors and do my own thing.

I remember working late nights on a project I was told to be too controversial, nobody would work on it with me, so I took it on board to do a group project by myself and wear five different hats whilst utilising my resources. Of course I was met with contempt and doubt, but anyone who got in my way, I merely said “I am going to get a first”, and they would most often say, it was not possible doing a double degree and a five person project solo and to that my reply would be, “I am going to get a first”, with that they’d usually look at me as if I were mad and walk away.

First and foremost, the subject matter and exposing some truths was so important to me that my passion lit the fire that ignited months of challenging work that took me from the South of England through treacherous hilltops in Wales across the Wild West of the America’s. I completed my project and months went by and I remember sitting in a little Boutique hotel in Singapore with Mum and Dad, we were travelling back to Malaysia that day and we all knew my results were in from University. I opened my Mac and logged in and turned to Mum and said, “I’ve got a first Mum’, it was funny because she said something like, darling, try not to get your hopes up, a 2:1 is brilliant and we will be happy with whatever you get. I said, “no Mum, look” as I turned the computer to show her the little 1:1 on the screen, which meant I had to score above 89% on the majority of my assignments.

Now, don’t get me wrong, we do not all have to graduate with high grades, this story is personal to me because it stems from the fact that I failed in school, my GCSE’s and the International Baccalaureate. To everyone else it may have seemed as though I was not academically inclined, but looking back I had a short attention span for things that did not keep my mind utterly stimulated. Once I found my true calling, a rare passion, I was easily able to channel that energy without burning myself out studying for exams on subjects that did not challenge me to my very core.

“Everybody is a genius. But, if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” Albert Einstein.

Other examples of my manifesting success have been beliefs surrounding money and finance, conjuring up tens of thousands of dollars from various sources, creating opportunities from visualisation, completing a masters degree with a high GPA score whilst going through a severe trauma, visa application approvals and moving mountains to make the seemingly impossible, very possible.

I will now share my favourite manifesting recipes with you, so that you can catapult your magical journey to a whole new level:

#1 Recipe: Manifestation Journal

An attractive journal

A feel good writing pen

Time: 10-15 minutes

Preparation Method: This one is a good one to start with, because you can begin with one page of A5 a day and scribe out your desires first thing in the morning, which will set your thoughts in the right direction.

Take your life as it is right now, think about any challenges you are facing, I wave a magic wand over all your troubles, imagine they have all been sorted out for you like magic, how would your life look and how would you feel?

Now, hold those thoughts and write a page, acting as if you are talking about your life’s desires as though they have already happened and you are excitedly writing and recording them in your journal.

Ex. I am so excited that they moved the interviews for two weeks from now to give me more time to prepare. I have been able to help … with her house move and she was so grateful we got invited out to an incredible play. Money has been coming in from various sources and I feel financially free, it makes me feel secure and I am able to go on courses and training programmes. Life is wonderful…

You get the idea and you can be as creative as you like!

Secret Ingredient: A good mood enhances your chances of success.

# 2 Recipe: Intentions and Incantations

Paper, notebook, mirror or electronic diary

A pretty pen

Time: 10-15 minutes

Preparation Method: Intentions are lovely quick and succinct ways to manifest your way to greatness, you can write out your intentions as specific goals as though they have happened each day. Say them to yourself whilst smiling in the mirror in the morning, share them with family and friends, ask for what you want, create a little mantra for yourself, pop them somewhere you will see them, set them as reminders or even pop them in an Intentions box. Add candles and sage to your routine and your intentions become incantations!

Ex. I am successful; I have so much energy, each day I am more productive; my mood is energetic; I feel vibrant; money is flowing into my bank account. Always start in the present or future tense (I am, I have or I am having etc.)

You can be more specific than that if you like, a crucial tip here is to forget the ‘how it is going to happen’ and believe it will happen. Write out short statements or sentences, you can start with 5-10 in the morning; they can be in relation to the day ahead or the coming weeks, months and years.

An incantation is said with a ritual in mind to change something in the future, for this you can add crystals, herbs, stones, flowers, trinkets and anything else you feel magical energy from to bring about your visualisations.

Secret Ingredient: Make sure your mood is positive before writing or doing your incantations and intentions and if it isn’t, then jump in a hot shower, put on your favourite music or do some jumping jacks till you feel those endorphins kicking in and then start your preparations.

#3 Galactic Gratitude

A fancy smancy notebook

Your favourite pen

Time: 15-30 minutes

Preparation Method: Gratitude is universally practiced and is crucial to manifesting your desires, as it is a feeling that makes us feel great and if we feel great, we attract great, like attracts like. This technique is quite simple and if it is something you struggle with, try going a day without complaining or saying a bad word about anyone and see how your mood elevates. Say the magic word, thank you to everyone who does something for you, sprinkle magic dust and positive vibes on people you see throughout the day.

Other ways to feel grateful are to write gratitude lists, either first thing in the morning or last thing at night, even better, do both. Kikki K has a beautiful little tick journal and Today Was A Good Day Notebook that works well for evening gratitude and reflecting on your day, which shows you that even on the days that felt bad, there’s plenty to be grateful for.

Secret Ingredient: Always remember to put the reason why you are grateful, as this enhances your chances of manifesting your advances.

#4 Visualisation and Meditations

A comfy bed, chair or mat

Your precious mind

Time: 5 minutes to an hour of your time (depends on how well done you’d like your visualisations to be)

Preparation Method: I don’t think I could have manifested all the wonders I have without my Meditation practices, I practice Transcendental Meditation myself, but sometimes it takes a bit of trial and error to find what works for you. My meditation practitioner said to me once, “meditation is the purification of thoughts”, now if I didn’t get rid of those waste thoughts they could turn into negative manifestations, so for me, skipping meditation is like skipping a meal, it’s sacrosanct to my survival.

I’ve met people who class their gym routine, showering, running, kettle brewing time and reflective journaling as their meditative moments, so variations can work. It’s just about giving enough time for the mind to rest, process thought and rid any negativity before it is collected in the body. As Bessel Van Der Kolk taught me, The Body Keeps the Score.

If I rid the thoughts I don’t want, it leaves room for those I do and then that clears the mind for visualisation, which is such a fun technique and instantly raises energy levels. You might have heard about the sportsperson analogy, where before a big race they imagine the circuit and how they will race it. Studies show that when skiers visualise the circuit, the brain lights up the same as when they actually race the race. Therefore, if we want something to happen, we can actually lie down or sit and create the image in our mind that we want, as though it is happening now, and with practice, this can lead to the visualisation transpiring as it has for countless others.

Secret Ingredient: Is in the consistency, create a daily practice of visualising your desire until it has manifested, and then move onto the next one. You can even create a sacred space for meditating.

#5 Fantastical 5 X 55

A journal

A feel good writing pen

Time: 30-45 minutes

Preparation Method: This technique is a little more time-consuming, but it is extremely powerful. We are going to write 55 of the same statement for five days in a row. Why 5X55? In numerology, 55 is to raise our energy levels and 5 is about activating our personal power, but 555 itself means you will go through a positive change and as a triple number, energy levels are tripled, making it even more powerful. It often symbolises a massive change, so get ready for the magic, this one will blow your mind.

Similar to your intentions in the way that it is written, you are to write out a statement that you want to happen as though it already has. It can be long or short, but it must be a desire that hasn’t happened yet, written as though it has.

Write it out 55 times and read each line aloud for five days in a row. Make sure you won’t be distracted and glue pen to paper, but it is imperative you don’t let it feel like a chore, instead, feel the joy of having the desire as you write it out line by line.

Secret Ingredient: The three C’s; Consecutively, Consistently and Continuously.

#6 Magic Board

A cork, card, wooden board or a frame and paper (size A4-A3)

Favourite magazines

Scissors & Glue

Stickers & Photos (optional)

Time: 3 hours to a few hours on a weekend for 3-4 weeks

Preparation Method: I would say this has been my most favourite feel-good pastime of all, I’ve been doing this for about ten years now and looking back at the vision boards I’ve created I would say I can tick off the majority from the board. We went to a fantastic workshop and I remember it being one of the few times I had seen my mum enjoy herself since my Father’s passing.

Similar to visualisation, a magic board is about imagining how you’d like your life to look in the coming weeks, months or year. Taking out those magazines and highlighting the pages for your creation, ready to cut out, glue and manifest.

For example: If you want to get fit and start yoga or meditation, then cut out pictures that relate to that, if you’d like to go away, choose images that suggest that, or if you want to attract more money, then find some pictures that make you feel abundant financially.

Secret Ingredient: Decide your intentions prior to creating the board and write a list or create a mind map of how you’d like it to look. You can create a personal magic board, a business board and if you have children, you can even get them creating one for their upcoming school year. I suggest creating one every 3-6 months and especially at the end or beginning of the year, it will help set your goals and plans for the year.

#7 Tidying Up the tidylodge way

A messy room, desk, wardrobe, cupboard, financial situation or relationship

A mood for planning, organising & decluttering

Boxes & storage utensils

Files & folders

Labels or label maker

Time: Now this is a biggy, this one can be anywhere between the range of a few hours to months, so we’ve had to create a whole other blog post on Tidying Up the tidylodge way.

Preparation Method: Abraham Lincoln once said “give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe”, portraying the importance of planning and organising before hand and that it is critical to practice the skill. Organising, planning and decluttering are just that, they are skills. How are you able to get the job done in a messy place with no space? Imagine if your mind is full of clutter, well it’s the same for your room, workspace or kitchen.

Did you know that having a good clear out is the best way to prevent you from feeling overwhelmed in other areas of your life? A tidy space makes way for a happy face. According to studies, physical mess can make us feel emotionally messy. So, if you want to make life magical, start creating space for the magic to happen.

In a nutshell: Follow this Pocus Process.

  • Mind Map: Create a mind map or a visual aid and plan of the areas that need decluttering, order them in terms of priority, this could take hours, days or weeks depending on your clutter chaos. For example, bathroom could have a list underneath saying: vitamins, toiletries, supplies and sink
  • One Bite: Take it one bit at a time, remember this silly anecdote, how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. We will never eat an elephant, but you get the point. Start with one section of your visual plan and take one segment from that section. For example, vitamins, I’m going to order a pillbox from iHerb and sort my pills out for the week and then make a shelf in the fridge or cupboard for my supplies
  • System: This part is where you create a system, it can be one of the many decluttering techniques out there or for the sake of this recipe we are going to let you in on two of our tidylodge tidying up systems.

First is the Magical Major Method, where we have heaps to declutter. We will start by sectioning it into suitable areas, books, paperwork, furniture etc. Then we are going to label them under the following headings: Sell it, Give it away, Recycle, Charity, Shred it, Sentimental, Damaged, Store it. For example, box number 1 might be labelled: Autobiographies, Local Library or you might pop a sticky note on a bed saying: For Sale.

The second system is the Magical Mini Method, which works for your smaller areas but in a very similar way. Take a desk for example; break it all down, stationery, gadgets, wires, notebooks, papers, trinkets and books. Create a little storage plan and area with pots, boxes or trays to keep things tidy. You can create systems for your kitchen with utensils, fridge organising, mugs and plates, or even an outhouse or storage cupboard.

  • To Done: Now, you are going to make your way around each little section of your map and work on all segments individually as and when you can, ticking or crossing them off as you go along, you can even pop your map on the wall or your fridge.
  • Feels Like Magic: Each day spend one hour organising yourself in terms of what site you will sell on and begin uploading items, decide which friend or family member you would like to give items to, check out the local charities and what they are looking for and start shifting everything out. Remember, when getting rid of any items to be grateful for their service and say thank you. If you are unsure whether to get rid of a particular item, use the old Japanese trick and hold it for a few seconds, decide whether it makes you feel magical before parting with it and if it does, hold onto a little longer or keep it safe.

Secret Ingredient: Work on one segment of one section at a time and remember the reason why you are doing this, make sure it’s for a good cause. If you need a little inspiration, watch The Minimalists or Tidying Up with Marie Kondo.

#8 Removing Psychological Blocks by Removing Physical Blocks

Pen and Paper or a notebook (you’re going to create a plan)

Preparation Method: This one is not easy and it is our life’s work, I’m sure by now, you have already found some ways that work for you, but here is another one for now that might help you out. Just by simply organising space in our physical lives, we will create room to manifest our goals whatever they might be. Routine, structure and some clarity in our environment, actually clear the way for our internal and emotional blocks to be removed.

Firstly, write down six areas of your life you want to declutter or clear up, improve or grow. For example they might be categorised like this: Family, work, finances, physical health, social life, housework. Then when you’ve decided on your six areas, pop them in a big pie shaped circle or write them across the page and drawer lines down so you have areas to write in.

Next, you are going to compartmentalise all the areas you want to work on in those bigger categories, some smaller tasks might be cardio in health, monthly budget in financing, fix hinges on bedroom door in housework and then another could be set a date night with partner in social life.

Now you get the idea right? If we create some organisation and systems in our own lives, it can help us regain balance with our emotions. You’re next task is, to take action, now you have your lifestyle balance pie or block if you like, you can stick it on your fridge, mirror or wardrobe and cross each task off as you take one a day for 30 days, make sure the tasks are manageable and the slightly tougher ones, save those for your off days or weekends.

Secret Ingredient: Patience, this one is an on-going task.

I cannot begin to tell you how magical life will begin to feel if you give this beginners guide to manifesting a shot, even if you try one or two of the eight, I guarantee you will feel great!

A woman was in her study room.

She appeared very sad and down.

She picked up her pen and started writing the following:

I did not get an interview for the jobs I applied for.

My Employment Pass was rejected and my husband could not get back to Singapore, so I had to travel to India.

My Mother is so sad and I feel helpless.

My Family lives all over the world and I didn’t get to go home to England for Christmas or New year.

My Father was terminally ill and died at the young age of 58.

My Grandad also passed away this year

a few days before my dad.

At the end she wrote, this was such a bad year!

Then, the woman’s husband came into the room and saw her looking lost and confused, he saw the paper she had written and gave her a kiss on the forehead and left the room. A few moments later he came into the room and handed her a piece of paper, he placed it in his wife’s hand.

When she saw the paper it had her name on the top and it said:

I got married this year to the love of my life

and my Father was able to be at my

wedding as well as many other relatives

and friends who flew over at that time.

I did not get the jobs I applied for,

but I have set up a private practice

as well as helping out with multiple business’s.

This has led to happenstance opportunities

taking form in my career path, and my husband’s, which has allowed me to help carry on my Father’s legacy.

I got to go to India, where I found myself again,

had a spiritual awakening,

and lots of time with my new husband.

We also found a solution to our visa issues

and my husband was granted his EP,

which means everything is falling into place.

My Father may have passed away at 58, but he lived to have my brother and me, he met my mum at 18 and they had kids at 23, which meant he had lots of time with us. I got to spend so much time living at home with my parents and then, when his illness took a turn for the worse, I helped care for him. Most people I’ve read about become depressed and aggressive as the illness progresses, but Dad turned mellow and appeared quite serene. He even said when I asked him how he was feeling one day, “I’m happy darling”. I said, “What is making you happy dad?” and he said with a big smile on his face and a glow in his eyes, “Because I am around you and your mum and the people I love”. Some people die very young, too young to even have kids. My dad lived to teach us enough over the years to know how to live without him if we ever had to. That is something to be grateful for.

My Mother is pushing herself to do things out of her comfort zone despite her grief and has two kids who will do anything to make sure she’s ok and as happy as possible given the circumstances. She met my Dad young and had 40 years with him, which is an awesome amount of time. I have been able to help her a lot with all their personal affairs all because of my Father’s teachings. My Family and friends live all over the world, I have so many places to visit and reasons to go back home, which is such a luxury.

At the end it said: This year was a year of blessings and every little thing you do is magic. The woman was amazed and so happy at the interpretation of the events in her life that year!

Moral of the Story: It is essential for us to see, that in our lives, it is not happiness that makes us grateful, but gratitude that makes us happy and in that happy grateful state, life becomes magical. Always look for the blessings in life, no matter how bad the circumstances may seem. Gratitude is the formula for an abundant and happy life!

Make Life Magical!

First, let’s start by defining magic: Magic can be defined as finding something wonderful in everyday life, despite challenges. It can be described as a power of sorts that influences events by using universal forces internally and externally. Einstein once said “everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics.” Here at tidylodge we deliver products and services that are aimed to inspire, flare creativity and excite our clients. We blend our spiritual and scientific practices to create a world of wonder that leaves our clients with a sense of awe and excitement. We define spirituality simply as the search for meaning and purpose in life.

There are three components that make up a magic trick and there are three ingredients to “Real Magic”, they are; Transforming Our Energy, Psychological Programming, Intervention of Human and/or Spiritual Beings. When all three are used together with a sprinkling of belief, they create Magic in our lives. Prayer is also a form of magic, as is meditation, manifesting, gratitude and setting intentions for the day. We have heard in ancient texts that man has lived hundreds of years, defied giants, exhibited feats of strength almost inhuman and turned water into wine. We know that there is transformative power in fairytales for adults as well as children. Magic is everywhere, whether you are an atheist, or religious, a freethinker, spiritual or a mixture.

Electrons in atoms and molecules can make transitions in energy levels by emitting or absorbing a photon whose energy must be exactly equal to the energy difference between the two levels. Since atoms make up everything, everything is energy and therefore can be transformed. To raise the energy or vibrations in human beings we do actually have the power of words, thought, body language and emotions to change the way we feel. In the wise words of Mr Sigmund Freud, “Words and magic were in the beginning one and the same thing, and even today words retain much of their magical powers.” It is often said in certain circles the quote, ‘you do not have the power to make someone feel something’. Unfortunately and fortunately, however you choose to look at it, this is not entirely true as Don Miguel describes in the chapter Be Impeccable with your Word from The Four Agreements: “Through the word you express your creative power. It is through the word that you manifest everything. Regardless of what language you speak, your intent manifests through the word. What you dream, what you feel and what you really are, will all be manifested through the word… The word is the most powerful tool you have as a human; it is the tool of magic. But like a sword with two edges, your word can create the most beautiful dream, or your word can destroy everything around you.”

We know that the word has ultimate power to destroy, as we have seen it used for evil by ‘you know who’ during the first and second world war. Yet it has been used for good, love and all things magical by Mother Theresa and Mahatma Gandhi to name but a few. However, we also have the power to dispose of poisonous words by attempting not to take them personally, this is next level mind control though. In our programmes at tidylodge we look at this area amongst others to aid you in your quest to make life magical.

You may have heard in various circles of influence that magic is evil or the work of some negative entity. However, we shall dispel that myth now, like anything, used in the wrong hands or out of context, it can be detrimental. Take the narcissist who uses psychology to manipulate the masses, or the religious fanatic who tells people they will go to hell or believes in violence and sacrifice as an act of God. Einstein believed in both the concept of God and theories of Science.

At tidylodge we believe in the magic definition mentioned earlier which is about light and goodness and the Magic Model. Which is, if all three components are used in conjunction with a person’s beliefs and in positive harmony; then we can infect ourselves and the world at large with love, compassion and kindness. That is what “real magic” is all about. So, if we combine our logical mind and our wise mind, a little DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy) trick, we can see that creating magic in our everyday lives is not only logical and wise, but a magnificent addition to integrating our lives as a whole. Thus, seeing the mystery and wonder in our everyday lives. It is extremely uplifting too, to feel that spark of magic.

tidylodge Magic Model for “real magic” is as follows:

  1. Transform, Raise & Direct Energy & Vibrational Frequencies (how to change and redirect your energy through thoughts, words, feelings and senses)
  2. Psychological Programming, theories, evidenced based orientations (the scientifically evidenced based theories we utilise to create “real magic” in people’s lives)
  3. Intervention of Magiccraftee themselves, Magiccrafter, Spiritual & Other Beings (the client, therapist-coach and support network harnessed as part of the transformative element)

We believe in partnering with you to create a Magical world where we each find blessings in our everyday lives, despite challenges. When you feel your spark has gone in any area of your life, remember the Magic Model and utilise it to harness the power in that area of your life. Magic is real for us and it can be for you too. Make positive use of the tools at tidylodge, engage the people in your life and mercifully utilise the energy of the universe to create your everyday Magic.

Make Life Magical!

At tidylodge we help you to create “real Magic” in your everyday life, finding magic in the day-to-day tasks, despite trials and tribulations. We utilise evidenced based theories with our creative brand of programmes that enable us to take you on a journey for the cup of life. For some it may be hard to contemplate magic in our everyday lives, when the little nuances of life might feel as though they are blocking us from our powers. Yes, that’s right, our powers, we actually do have some innate abilities that if we learn how to tap into them can make life magical. Some people call these supernatural, others call it God and many call it science, harnessing areas of the brain that need a little exercise. Now the theory that we only use 10% of our brain is not actually true, it was debunked in a study in frontiers in Human Neuroscience. We can actually access different components of the brain at different times, depending on the level of activity, which means the brain can function at various percentages.

We all have some magical abilities and after all, magical just means that it is hard to explain or that it is captivating and enchanting. We agree with Dr Seuss, we “like nonsense, it wakes up the braincells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in life.” NLP and Hypnotism have close links and are effective modalities for treating clients with years of research on human consciousness. Some theorists claim they can cure a phobia in one session and the evidence is there. We all have extrasensory perception and intuition, both of which are correlated. We can feel when something is right or wrong long before we physically know it. Our sixth sense is evidence of “real magic”, married people will relate to this one well, being able to feel your partners emotions, sense when they are coming home are all examples of this.

As described in Psychology Today, these are some examples of the innate powers we do have. Therapy and coaching can unblock subconscious barriers that have been collected through conditioning and loss of identity over time and lead way to utilising the mind to a fuller capacity, creating a sense of nothing short of “real magic”. Now, we may not subscribe to the idea of literal mind reading per se, but psychology tells us that there are inborn abilities within us all to intuitively understand what someone is thinking or feeling by witnessing their eyes. Women are apparently more adept at this than men, a study found that this particular magic is routed in genetics.

“I do believe in an everyday sort of magic — the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we’re alone!”

Meditation has proven to have profound affects on brain health, it is needed to control emotions, as is the air we breath to control our oxygen intake, studies show it improves function and work performance if practiced consistently. A man once asked Buddha “what have you gained from meditation?” He replied: “Nothing. However, let me tell you what I lost: anger, anxiety, depression, insecurity, fear of old age and death.” The brain needs time to recuperate, as with the body when it is exercised, the muscles need respite to heal. The brain may not be a muscle like the heart, although it is known to behave as a muscle, and so when exercised, requires time to rest and regenerate neurons. Although the brain does get rest whilst we are sleeping, meditation is a different kind of recuperation that is crucial to the brain in order to utilise its potential, as it is in a higher state of consciousness due to us being awake. It is a state whereby one can control the mind, which in itself is a magical power. In a hundred years or so, humans will be looking back in history with disbelief that not all people practiced daytime mental rest, as they practiced nutrition and exercise. This is one example of how “real magic” can be accessed in our day-to-day lives. Meditation is spiritual, it is religious and it is scientific, it is your choice what it means to you.

At tidylodge, we believe in the Law of Attraction, during the major research phases for tidylodge, we stumbled across Wayne Dyers book, Real Magic: Creating Miracles in Everyday Life. It was incredible because it was describing the premise of tidylodge. We genuinely believe we attracted that book into our line of research, because Wayne, with a little assistance from Houdini, has created the perfect definition of “real Magic” that fits our ethos:

“According to the illustrious magician Harry Houdini, magic is achieved through illusion. A simple example is an illusion created by using smoke and mirrors. The illusion is called magic simply because it appears to be unexplainable. Late in his career, though, Houdini alluded to something that he had experienced which he called “real magic.” He apparently had acquired the ability to produce results that were in fact unexplainable. These magical results could not be accounted for even as the product of illusion… You, like most people, are probably convinced that if something is real it cannot be magic, and if it is magic it cannot be real. However, it is my belief that when we get caught in this paradox we are inhibited from experiencing our magical dimensions. I believe that we experience real magic when we transcend the paradox and that the transcendent view encompasses the experience of real magic as indeed very real, and also magical.” Make life magical!
