Women

Understanding the challenges faced by local and expatriate women in Singapore and around the world, is a skill tidylodge embraces. Some of the issues women face are marital; narcissistic abuse; physical abuse; self-harm; emotional abuse; fear; anxiety; depression; sadness; perimenopausal as well as menopausal issues; PMS; body image; social media; interpersonal relationships; suicidal ideation; gender stereotypes; and bio-psycho-social stressors. Women are continually juggling an array of issues both at work and in the home. These may include grief, worries about the future and even protection of their family. As there are a host of challenges, no woman is immune. At any socio-economic level psychotherapy can play a critical role in building strength to face each issue head on, with clarity and precision.

Many women also have hidden pressures and shame-based problems, which can make them feel isolated, even if they have a support network. This is often due to their fear of what others may think of them or how they feel they may be judged. Stress triggers certain responses to environmental factors and is progressive in its nature, building up to boiling point. This is why self-care and the unloading of those issues and emotions, in a way that does not re-trigger or re-traumatise a person, is a safe way to protect oneself and one’s family in times of transition or change.  In this way a therapeutic toolkit, on which to draw from when necessary, can be built.
